The Macallan Cask Strength Red Label Single Malt Scotch Whisky (USA Edition)
In stock
Macallan Cask Strength was up for grabs until 2012 (2013 in some markets) when The Edrington Group decided to discontinue it. It was replaced with Cask Strength 10 Year Old which (in a funny way) was also discontinued after a couple of years.
The discontinuation created quite a stir among the fans. For a long period of time, there were no Cask Strength products from the company. Recently, the distillery released Macallan Classic Cut as some sort of a fill-in but this new expression fell short of delivering the punch of its big brother.
Macallan Cask Strength is a NAS Product that comes bottled at cask strength of 58.6% ABV (Some batches comes with 60.1%).

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-tinged mahogany depths and burnished gold highlights, a luminous, inviting hue.
Nose
Rich, complex and alluring, the nose unfolds with dark cherries, dried figs and prunes, a boozy edge echoing old furniture polish. Charred wood and cinnamon add warmth, while burnt sugar and cocoa linger in the background, weaving a sumptuous tapestry of oak, sweetness and depth.
Palate
Thick and creamy on the palate, with a deft balance of oak and tangy fruit. Strawberry and maraschino cherries mingle with sultanas, while rich oak lends a bitter, lingering backbone. Cinnamon, clover and paprika warm the profile, with vanilla weaving through the spices into a long, resonant finish.
Finish
An enduring finish that unfolds slowly: sweet-tart fruit lingers as dry oak and dark chocolate emerge, fading into cocoa-spiced warmth and a refined, long-lasting dryness.
