Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold glow and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Dense peat smoke rises over a luxurious First Fill Port Pipe sweetness: red cherries, figs and raisins mingle with cocoa, vanilla and a touch of toffee, wrapped in velvety oak. A brooding, decadent aroma that lingers with smoky elegance.
Palate
An oily, full-bodied palate delivers fierce peat smoke, brightened by the first-fill port influence. Ripe plum, fig and blackberry ripple through dark chocolate, caramel and a hint of sea salt. Peppery spice and sturdy oak tighten the finish, leaving a long, warming impression of port-soaked fruit and lingering smokiness.
Finish
Long, peat-forward finish with port-influenced sweetness lingering; prunes, figs and dark cherries mingle with smoky, ashy peat, then cocoa and spice unfold as a warm, red-fruit fade slowly recedes.
