Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with copper highlights and a mahogany-tinged edge.
Nose
Peat smoke and maritime brine rise with a mineral edge, bold yet refined. Madeira sweetness threads through figs, dates and orange zest, mingling with dark chocolate, toffee and toasted almond. Leather, tobacco and oak spice deepen the aroma, while a waxy, age-soft backbone hints at the 19-year maturity and the cask finish.
Palate
Full-bodied and velvety, the palate unfolds with coastal peat and warm, medicinal smoke giving way to Madeira-tinged sweetness. Dried fig, date, raisin and orange zest mingle with dark chocolate, toffee and spice (clove, cinnamon), underpinned by deep oak. A long, smoky finish with saline hints and espresso undertones lingers warmly.
Finish
Madeira-warmed peat lingers into a long, luxurious finish. Dried fig and raisin mingle with burnt sugar, orange zest and cocoa, while gentle peat smoke threads through vanilla and spice. A warm, ember-dusted sweetness stays polished on the palate, fading slowly to a refined, velvet-soft echo of smoke and fruit.
