anCnoc Rutter Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In stock
A limited edition Peated Whisky (11 ppm) from Knockdhu which is named after the spade used to size and separate peat blocks from the Bog and bottled at natural colour and without chill filtering.
I would compare this to the likes of peated Benriach, Glenglassaugh Torfa or Kilchoman in style, a very well balanced lightly peated single malt from a distillery not known for its peaty whiskies but on this evidence that may well change.
96.5 points Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Natural colour, a sunlit golden amber with a soft, honeyed glow and a whisper of copper.
Nose
Smoked tropical fruit unfolds with pineapple and tinned pear in syrup, while seaweed lends coastal mineral edges and a hint of chilli flake for a delicate, peppery spark.
Palate
On the palate, wasabi heat and seaweed mingle with smoked pineapple and pear, evolving notes of leather, spicy vanilla, lime pickle and a gooseberry-like tartness.
Finish
Refreshing green apple, pear and lime finish, with a touch of wasabi heat and green chilli spice, and earthy, sooty peat smoke lingering in the background.
