This limited release Albariza has been peated and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
The word Albariza comes from the white soil with high chalk content in the Andalucia region in the south of Spain. This chalky white soil is perfect for growing grapes used in sherry production.

Tasting Notes
Nose
A smoky, festive bouquet: mince pies, sweet cured meats, and sun-kissed dates, raisins and figs cloaked in smoked dark honey. Earthy chocolate and antique leather mingle with rich sherry oak, while deeply aromatic smoked nuts and spices finish with a warming, resinous glow.
Palate
Dark fruit (figs, prunes & raisin) coal fire smoke embers, cured meats, white pepper, sticky ginger cake, rum and raisin smoked fudge, dark treacle, sooty vanilla, smoked walnut whips.
Finish
Rum soaked raisins wrapped in curewd meat and smoked over earthy chocolate/vanilla infused wood chips! dark and chewy, rich and sweet and as always with Benriach bloody great!A winning combination of dark sherry and smoke, like somebody has set fire to the flavours of christmas!
