Benriach Albariza Peated Pedro Ximenez Sherry Finish 2nd Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky 22 Year Old
In stock
The Albariza name comes from the typical white soil used for growing grapes in the production of sherry in the Andalucia region of Southern Spain.
This whisky is at first matured in American oak casks before being finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
The 22 year old is the second batch of The Albariza after the 18 year old release.
Bottled at natural colour and non chill filtered, the ‘Albariza’ is available on a strictly limited basis.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Natural amber-gold with a rich copper sheen and a whisper of mahogany, sunlit honey tones that hint at Pedro Ximenez sherry maturation.
Nose
Sweet dates and ripe figs ride atop a unique heather-honey peat smoke, softening into hints of herbs and sweet barley. A warm, resinous peat frame carries a delicate sun-dried fruit sweetness, hinting at the sherry finish and inviting a lingering, smoky elegance.
Palate
Sweet sherry-led richness envelopes vanilla, dark chocolate and rum-soaked raisins as waves of campfire peat roll through. A gentle white pepper and stem-ginger warmth lingers, lifting the finish with smoky resin and spice.
Finish
Long, decadent finish of Pedro Ximenez sweetness mingling with peat. Dried fruit, vanilla and dark chocolate linger with a warm pepper and ginger kick, while campfire smoke trails into a creamy, spiced finale.
