Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep coppery amber with burnished gold tones and a mahogany-tinged edge.
Nose
A curious hint of olive oil greets the nose, mingling with tar, soot, chocolate ginger and freshly cut grass. With a touch of water, classic Ardbeg aromas emerge—fennel, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tarry rope taking center stage.
Palate
Oiliness coats the tongue, yielding an intense minty sweetness, then toasted bread and creosote meet coal-tar soap with a hint of smoked pineapple. Rich dark chocolate and peppermint creams unfold, interlaced with bonfire embers and camphor, finishing on coffee grounds and liquorice.
Finish
An enduring finish, where coffee grounds mingle with liquorice, leaving a dusky, aromatic impression that lingers long on the palate.
