Bottled to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2021, Ardbeg Scorch was matured in ex-Bourbon casks charred by the fiery exhale of Dunnage Warehouse 3’s – definitely real and not at all made up – FLAVOUR BREATHING DRAGON. Intense aromas of soot and smoke lie in wait, while grilled fare and black liquorice mingle with bold notes of antiseptic lozenge. This limited edition single malt whisky is truly a dram of fantastical proportions.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery-gold highlights and a warm mahogany edge—a molten, smoky glow suggesting charred oak and twilight peat.
Nose
Nutty and spicy, with intensity that hints at aniseed and patchouli. Smoky herbal notes mingle with a distinct oily smoke and tar-like depth, evoking a coastal bonfire. A splash of water releases the classic Ardbeg fennel, herbal and pine top notes, brightening the aroma with resinous brightness.
Palate
Oily, spicy mouthfeel with a bold burst of antiseptic lozenges, tar and liquorice, sharpened by clove and pepper. A hint of sweet smoke—briar and sandalwood—drifts through, leaving a lingering, charcoal-kissed warmth.
Finish
A long, subtly sooty, tarry finish that lingers with a gentle wisp of smoke.
