Deep burnished gold with coppery amber hues and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Earthy and dusty with a biscuity edge, this Ardbeg noses toward an alternative universe. Sooty, tarry notes stay restrained, balanced by silky vanilla. With a splash, herbal and floral whispers emerge—smoked vetiver, aniseed, fennel, chrysanthemum and jasmine.
Palate
Peppery, warming mouthfeel opens into a burst of fiery spice—chilies—paired with bitter-sweet mocha and chocolate, braided with briar wood, birch tar, black pepper and smoked artichokes, finishing with a long, smoky, charred depth.
Finish
An enduring finish of sooty, tarry notes builds into a smoky crescendo, with charcoal, bitter almonds and molasses threading through the lingering aftertaste.
