Since commencing production in November 2014, Annandale Distillery have adopted a ‘wood policy’ that aims to deliver both diversity of flavour along with the opportunity to mature Single Malts for relatively short or long periods of time, and everything in between. This particular bottling was laid down in 2017 in a single STR ex-Burgundy cask, developing into a delightfully smooth and mellow Single Malt.

Colour
Rich amber-gold with coppery highlights and a burgundy-tinted glow, deepening to honeyed mahogany at the edge.
Nose
Juicy red fruits leap from the glass—ripe cherry, raspberry and cranberry—paired with vanilla, crème brûlée and almond. Subtle cocoa and toasted oak from the STR maturation mingle with a wine-soft sweetness from the ex-Burgundy cask, while warm spice—cinnamon and clove—adds elegance and a lingering, inviting perfume.
Palate
Silky and mellow on the palate, this 5-year-old from an ex-Burgundy STR cask delivers red-fruit depth—cherry, raspberry and plum—woven with wine-spice, vanilla and a touch of toffee. Velvet tannins and oak provide a refined backbone, while white pepper and cinnamon lift the mid-palate. Finishes long with cocoa, dried fruit and a polished, lingering wood spice.
Finish
Silky and long, the finish releases red berry sweetness, raspberry and cherry, with soft spice and a kiss of oak tannin. A warm, persistent fade carries a berry-forward echo, with vanilla and subtle nuttiness lingering, rounding to a refined, mellow afterglow from the ex-Burgundy cask.
