The Founders Reserve range from the Annandale distillery is focused on the flavour diversity imparted by the cask. This particular dram was matured in Cask 355 - an ex-French Burgundy cask which was shaved, toasted and recharred. It was filled with unpeated new make spirit on the 23rd March 2017 and bottled on the 15th June 2020. This produces a dram with notes of tobacco smoke, smoky bacon and hints of coconut, sweet almond cherry Bakewell, creamy vanilla and fresh peach.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and a warm honey-gold glow.
Nose
Bold tobacco smoke anchors the aroma, supported by smoky bacon and a creamy coconut note. Sweet almond and cherry Bakewell layer in, while vanilla-rich cream and juicy peach lend a suave, sunlit lift. A curiously elegant, cask-driven bouquet from a young single malt.
Palate
Rich and smoky from the ex-Burgundy cask, the palate delivers tobacco and smoky bacon with creamy vanilla. Coconut and sweet almond mingle with cherry Bakewell, peach freshness and a subtle oaken spice, finishing long and warm with seductive depth.
Finish
Long, tobacco-tinged finish with wisps of smoky bacon, slowly giving way to creamy vanilla, coconut and peach, with a delicate almond Bakewell sweetness lingering.
