This is a single malt whisky blended soley from whiskies made of the Golden Promise barley cultivar. Golden Promise was widely cultivated in Scotland from 1968 to around 1980, but is now a rare variety produced only in small amounts. Suntory has created its first product crafted from this cultivar. The label motif depicts the Japanese character for "barley"

Mellow aromas with a touch of barley sweetness and honey, a soft, sun-warmed grain signature that unfolds with quiet warmth and gentle, inviting sweetness.

Palate

Rich, honey-sweet on the palate, with a gentle lift from faint acidity, revealing a deep, multi-layered sweetness and velvety depth.

Finish

Creamy, lingering tones of sweetness tinged with acidity.

Yamazaki
(yah-mah-ZAH-kee) Yamazaki was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii at the foot of Mt. Tennozan, on the outskirts of Kyoto, and is recognised as Japan’s first and oldest malt whisky distillery. Torii chose the site for its soft water and misty climate where the Katsura, Uji and Kizu rivers meet, believing it could produce a style of whisky better suited to Japanese palates than a straight imitation of Scotch.
