"Sweet dried fruits and chile chocolate from the sherry cask on the nose. Mature, complex tastes due to the depth of the mizunara. A distinctly spicy tannic texture. There's an excellent rum and raisin richness in the finish for a magnificently dark digestif."
A very highly regarded and multiple award winning 18 year old Japanese single malt which is now sadly pretty much unavailable in the marketplace

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery mahogany hues and a warm gold core.
Nose
Sweet dried fruit aroma with dark chocolate-chili notes from the sherry cask, unfolding into a mature, complex profile. The mizunara oak adds depth and a distinctly spicy, tannic warmth that hints at the storied 18-year elegance.
Palate
Mature, complex on the palate, with deep mizunara depth lending structure and a subtle smoky spice. Rich dried-fruit sweetness—dark plum and raisin—threads through, while a chocolatey chili bite from the sherry cask adds tactile tannic warmth that lingers into a suave, digestif-like finish.
Finish
A long, dark finish of rum-and-raisin richness, with a distinctly spicy, tannic bite. It lingers like a luxurious digestif, warm and impeccably refined.
