Following the success of the Distillers Reserve editions of Hakushu and Yamazaki, they have decided to release an older, more exclusive limited edition of the Yamazaki single malt.
The 2016 release is distinguishable from previous releases by virtue of the image depicting one of Yamazaki's warehouses on the bottle, as opposed to previous releases which bore images such as stills or the distillery itself.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Radiant burnished amber with honey-gold glints and bronze undertones, warm and inviting.
Nose
An elegant swirl releases ripe orchard fruit such as yellow plum, pear and apricot, bathed in honeyed sweetness. Gentle citrus zest and vanilla mingle with delicate oak, toasted almond and faint spice, inviting a refined, velvety depth.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied with honeyed malt and ripe orchard fruit. Fresh pear and orange zest mingle with vanilla and almond, while gentle oak adds structure. A whisper of spice, cinnamon and ginger, brightens the mid-palate, leading to a long, elegant finish that is clean yet warmly lingering.
Finish
Long, refined finish that unfolds with honeyed fruit and vanilla, lifting slowly into a delicate whisper of oak and spice. Dried citrus and toasted barley linger, complemented by a subtle, warming resin and a clean, softly dry finale.
