The Wire Works Caduro Cask Strength release builds upon their signature Derbyshire single malt, matured in a blend of American and French oak. This includes both first-fill ex-bourbon casks and White Peak’s unique STR casks—re-conditioned wine barriques that have been shaved, toasted, and re-charred. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.0%, this expression has undergone 18 months of in-cask maturation, resulting in a complex and harmonious interplay of flavors.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with coppery hues and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
A lush, dessert-forward nose of pear drops, baked apple and banana, lifted by bright orange zest and warming nutmeg. Sweet white chocolate and fudge mingle with marshmallow, marzipan and popcorn, while a hint of burnt sugar threads through the sweetness.
Palate
Marmalade and treacle tart set the stage, with liquorice all-sorts and tobacco adding depth. Creamy milk chocolate and grapefruit zest provide a balanced lift, while meringue and baklava lend delicate sweetness and pastry notes.
Finish
Bonfire toffee lingers, braided with warming spice—mace, allspice and cinnamon—while citrus zest and crème brûlée weave through the cereal sweetness, finishing with a delicate wisp of smoke.
