Tullibardine Claxton's Single Cask Whisky 24 Year Old · 1993 Vintage
Out of stock
A slightly overlooked Highland distillery in general, which is a little bit of a shame as older expressions both officially and indie have been well received. Here we have a 24 year old single malt bottled by Claxton's. Matured in a bourbon hogshead, a release of 273 bottles, this offers great value for such a mature whisky.
A slightly mature and savoury nose, old libraries, polish, dusty books and leather. There's an underlying oilyness coupled with roasted nuts. The palate is smooth and mouthcoating, there's lots coffee, walnut and toffee flavours added to by spice, citrus and oak. The finish is spicy and drying with a real chewy complexity, it also lasts for ages. A grand dram.
