The Macallan The Golden Age Of Travel: The Steam Train Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1937 Vintage
Out of stock
A time of glamour and romance, this rich and enticing release embraces the luxury carriages with stunning interiors that transported their passengers on magical journeys across spectacular landscapes.
Featuring an exceptionally rare Macallan, distilled in 1937, this scarce single malt vintage was first bottled in 1973, and rebottled in 2017. Deep russet red in colour, it is a rare and special Macallan that explodes with flavours of spice, toasted oak, Seville oranges and rose oil. The sensuous natural colour suggests a higher proportion of second fill Spanish sherry-seasoned oak casks were used, supported by American oak - a result of the shortage of casks during the years of the Spanish Civil War. Over the years this whisky has developed a unique character, defined by a vibrancy of flavours on the palate and a long smooth finish.
