Out of stock
The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection is the most prestigious range from The Macallan, launched in 2002 to showcase its oldest and most exceptional whiskies.
This 25-year-old single malt was bottled by Macallan master whisky maker Bob Dalgarno from cask number 7021, an American oak Sherry puncheon from the Vasyma cooperage in Spain, which was filled with new make spirit on 28 March 1991.
Bottled at 49.4% abv, Macallan 1991 Fine & Rare joins a collection of single malts designed to ‘offer new insights into the aroma and flavour characteristics’ of the Speyside distillery.
‘We are proud that since the very first release of the 1926 Fine & Rare that this collection of vintage single malts has come to stand for the best in the industry, commanding worldwide acclaim and admiration from single malt enthusiasts,’ said Charlie Whitfield, manager of brand education and Fine & Rare whiskies.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry-cask aroma from American oak puncheon: dark fruits—prune, fig, raisin—woven with vanilla and almond, and a warming cloak of spice (cinnamon, clove), with cocoa and orange zest.
Palate
Opulent and full-bodied, this evolves on the palate with velvety sherry-soaked fruit—dark raisins and fig, bright orange zest—complemented by roasted almond, cacao and a whisper of toffee. Spice emerges—cinnamon, clove—driving through warm, resinous oak. The finish is long, refined and luxurious, leaving cocoa, dried fruit and a subtle, lingering spice.
Finish
Long, luxurious and elegantly spiced, this Macallan fades into a sherried, sweet finale. Dried fig and raisin mingle with orange zest and dark chocolate, carried by velvety oak. Cinnamon and clove thread through, leaving a warm, polished finish that lingers with refined persistence.
