The Macallan Sherry Oak 30 Years Old forms part of Macallan's Sherry Oak range which features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. Deliciously smooth with a long, rich finish, the natural dark mahogany colour of the 30 Years Old is the richest in the range.

As always, this is presented in a luxurious wooden box and the iconic ribbon wrapped around the bottle, which has been featured in other rare Macallan releases.

Dark mahogany, a richly hued, velvety shade with a subtle ruby gloss and a warm, sherried glow that speaks to decades in oak.

Nose

Honeyed figs and dates mingle with caramelised pineapple and chocolate orange, a lush, inviting aroma with subtle sherry warmth.

Palate

Rich fruit cake and prunes, with stem ginger, cinnamon and orange essence, unveiling a gentle toasted oak.

Finish

A long, luxurious finish where oak and spice entwine with bright orange, lingering with elegant warmth.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
