This extraordinary release features an exceptionally rare 1940 vintage, bottled in 2024. Matured for over eight decades, at 84 years old it is the oldest whisky ever released by The Macallan.
Paired with this is the inaugural whisky from the distillery which opened in 2018, a remarkable 2018 vintage, bottled in 2024 and representing the future.
The vessel for TIME : SPACE is a ground-breaking dual chamber where the exceptional whiskies form the heart of the piece, brought to life stylistically with the idea of time travel in a retro futuristic way.

Colour
Deep mahogany-amber with coppery highlights and a sun-bronzed edge.
Nose
Opulent sherry on the nose, with dried plum, fig and raisin, lacquered by orange zest and dark chocolate. Hints of toffee, clove and cinnamon mingle with velvet oak, leather and a whisper of tobacco. Time-worn elegance—ripe fruit meeting refined spice in a moment of vintage majesty.
Palate
Opulent, velvety palate of dried prune and fig, intertwined with orange marmalade, dark chocolate and toffee. Rich sherry warmth expands over polished oak, with espresso, cinnamon and nutmeg notes. Full-bodied and refined, offering a creamy mouthfeel, subtle tobacco and leather, and a long, elegant finish that lingers like a timeless, luxurious remembrance.
Finish
An exceptionally long, regal finish. Rich sherry sweetness lingers with dark chocolate, dried orange peel, and raisins, brightened by cinnamon and clove. Velvet oak and a touch of tobacco unfold slowly, fading into a refined, resinous tail. Warmth remains on the palate, evolving into a graceful, contemplative afterglow that echoes The Macallan’s timeless craft.
