This 25 year old was distilled in 1965 and bottled in 1990 as part of the celebrated Anniversary Malt series. Matured in sherry oak casks, it reflects the traditional, richly styled Macallan character of the era.
The nose shows polished oak, dried fruits, orange peel and warm spice, with subtle notes of leather and chocolate. On the palate, layers of raisin, fig, toffee, nutmeg and gentle citrus are balanced by structured oak and a soft, oily texture. The finish is long and elegant, with lingering sherry sweetness and dry spice.
