Opulent sherry-driven aroma with dark fruit and sweetness: raisin, fig and orange zest layered over toasted almond and toffee, hints of vanilla and cocoa, and a quiet wisp of leather and oak spice.

Palate

Velvety and opulent, the palate unveils rich sherry tones with fig, raisin and orange zest, mingled with luxurious toffee. Cinnamon and clove spark through velvety oak, while cocoa and leather add depth, delivering a plush, enduring finish that lingers with refined warmth.

Finish

Long, opulent finish with polished oak and rich sherry, layered with dried fruit; orange zest and dark chocolate whisper through a warm, velvety spice that lingers.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
