The Founder's Reserve is a blend of two styles, Single Malt and Single Pot Still. The proportions used are 70% Single Malt and 30% Single Pot Still, with no grain Whiskey present. This results in a much more flavoursome Whiskey. Founder’s Reserve is triple distilled and matured in Bourbon Casks.

Colour

Rich copper-amber with warm honey-gold highlights.

Nose

Zesty spice threads through black pepper and sun-kissed peaches, yielding a bright, inviting nose with orchard sweetness and a lively, pepper-kissed lift.

Palate

On the palate, pot still spice ripples through dark chocolate, supported by Bourbon oak and vanilla-soft notes; a lush, creamy mouthfeel leads to a warm, oak-driven finish.

Finish

Long, warm, and comforting, the finish pairs oak with butterscotch, leaving a smooth, lingering sweetness that fades softly.

The Irishman was created by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh as part of Walsh Whiskey’s move into Irish whiskey in the mid-2000s. It was the company’s first whiskey brand, launched in 2007, and it drew on older Irish whiskey styles at a time when the category was still rebuilding its premium reputation.
