The oldest bottling to date from the Vintage series.Dstilled in December 1970, only four years after the distillery was opened, there are fewer than 1,000 individually numbered bottles of this exceptional single maltInitially matured in Bourbon Barrels then aged in 30 Years Old Apostoles Oloroso Sherry Butts before being returned back into First Fill Bourbon barrels for a final finishing period.

Deep, dark amber with mahogany edges and a warm copper-gold glow.

Nose

Creamy caramel mingles with juicy pear, walnut cake and nutty praline; a warm, dessert-like bouquet with toasted almond nuances and a subtle sherry depth.

Palate

Silky and opulent, the palate unfolds with dark treacle sweetness and delicate almond-frangipane, while tropical coconut and ripe figs weave a sun-kissed fruit richness. A creamy, velvety mouthfeel leads to a long, layered finish with gentle warmth and refined oak.

Finish

Silky and persistent, the finish releases dark treacle and dried fig, with a whisper of coconut and almond praline. Velvety oak and gentle spice linger long into the afterglow, a refined, enduring sweetness that remains poised and balanced.

Tamnavulin
(Tam-na-VOO-lin) Tamnavulin opened in 1966 in the village of Tomnavoulin, beside the River Livet in the foothills of the Cairngorms. The purpose-built distillery stands on the site of a 16th-century carding mill, and the old wooden water wheel still appears on the brand’s bottles. After closing in 1995 during the industry downturn, the distillery reopened for testing in 2000, underwent a major refurbishment in 2007, and changed the shape of its stills in 2010.
