Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a touch of mahogany, glinting with warm, honey-bronze radiance.
Nose
Sherried richness coats ripe prunes and dark raisins, braided with toasted oak and vanilla. Zesty orange peel, cocoa, and almond paste mingle with honeyed malt, a touch of spice, and a faint maritime breeze. At cask strength, the aroma is vibrant, voluminous, and invitingly warming.
Palate
Powerful and opulent, this Strathmill pours dark and sherried, with dried fruit compote—raisins, figs, dates—melding toffee, vanilla and cocoa. Spiced, peppery warmth from 60.7% carries through the mid-palate, then oak and orange zest thread a long, luxurious finish with coffee-nut notes and a lingering sweetness.
Finish
Long, warming finish with fig and dried cherry, dark chocolate and coffee, woven with toasted oak and spice. A bright hint of orange zest lingers as the sweetness eases into a silky, resinous finale.
