Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with warm mahogany tones and a subtle ruby-garnet sheen.
Nose
Rich port fruit on the nose—ripe plum, fig, raisin and dark cherry—undercurrents of cocoa, caramel and vanilla. Peaty smoke and a maritime brine weave through, while polished oak and a touch of spice lend depth, giving a suave, slightly leathery complexity.
Palate
Opulent and velvety on the palate, this Springbank coats with a warming, oily richness. Port-wine sweetness drapes dark fruit—plum, cherry, fig—with notes of toffee and cocoa and a mocha edge. Peat remains woven with maritime smoke, a kiss of iodine and sea salt. Spices—clove, nutmeg—rise on the finish, tempered by sturdy oak tannins. Long, plush, and impeccably integrated.
Finish
Long, port-tinged finish of dark fruit, fig and plum, with warm spice and oak. Cocoa, almond and a maritime, mineral lift linger as the sweetness fades, leaving a gentle peat-driven glow.
