Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm mahogany edge, a glassy, sun-kissed glow.

Warm, polished oak and honeyed orchard fruits lead the nose, enhanced by sherry richness—raisins and fig with a bright note of orange zest. Vanilla and almond mingle with spice, while a delicate waxy quality adds poised elegance to this 12-year Speyside decanter.

Palate

Silky and refined, this 12-year Speyside reveals orchard fruit, honeyed malt and toffee, lifted by sherry richness. Dried raisin and fig fuse with vanilla, cinnamon and oak, leading to a long, velvety finish with gentle spice and a polished maritime edge.

Finish

Long, refined and sherried, this finish unfolds with dried fruit, cocoa and toasted almond, complemented by soft spice and polished oak. Velvety and persistent, it slowly fades to a warm, sweet glow, leaving a lingering sense of balance and luxury.

Speyside Distillery
Speyside Distillery was the long-held vision of George Christie, who bought the site in 1962 and spent decades developing it from an old barley mill near Drumguish. Although the buildings were completed in 1987, distillation did not begin until 12 December 1990, giving the distillery a relatively modern start despite its older-looking setting and traditional appearance.
