Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a touch of mahogany, glowing with warm, luxurious depth.
Nose
Intense peat smoke and iodine lead the nose, brushed by sea spray. Vanilla and toffee from first-fill American whiskey casks mingle with red-fruit spice and Bordeaux oak from the French wine casks, then dark cocoa and toasted cedar emerge. Maritime, vigorous, and warm, with a wine-kissed edge.
Palate
Bold peat remains the spine, layered with vanilla and toffee from first-fill American oak. Second-fill French wine casks inject red-fruit warmth, cocoa and spice, while Bordeaux oak adds blackberry notes and a subtle tannic lift. Mouthfeel is lush and warming at 59.2%, finishing long with smoky sweetness, peppery heat, and a coastal saltiness that lingers.
Finish
Long and resinous, the finish carries coastal peat and ash, with sweet vanilla from the American cask and red-fruit spice from the Bordeaux wine casks. Dark chocolate and espresso peek through the smoke, while oak tannin and a peppery warmth slowly fade into a lingering coastal finish.
