Distillery Bottling

Old Pulteney Port is the second expression in The Coastal Series. Matured in both Ruby Port Pipes and Ruby Port Barriques, which once held an iconic sweet, red, fortified wine native to the Douro Valley of northern Portugal. The sweet flavours of the wine pair perfectly with the briny notes The Maritime Malt is known for.

Deep amber with coppery-red highlights and a ruby-tinged glow.

Nose

Fragrant and rich, the nose offers sultanas and buttery vanilla, complemented by candied orange, marzipan cherries and cinnamon swirls.

Baked toffee apples, fresh plum and salted dark chocolate grace the palate.

Finish

A fruity finish, buoyed by a delicate sea spray, leaving a light, saline tang that lingers with coastal brightness.

Old Pulteney
(Old PULT-nee) Old Pulteney was founded in 1826 by James Henderson in Wick, during the height of the town’s herring boom, and for a time it was the most northerly distillery on mainland Scotland. Its history includes a long silent period after Wick voted to go dry under the Temperance Act: the distillery closed in 1930, prohibition in the town ended in 1947, and production eventually resumed in 1951. Later milestones include a major refurbishment in 1958, Inver House Distillers taking ownership in 1995, and the release of the now-iconic Old Pulteney 12 Year Old in 1997.
