Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with a warm mahogany core and ruby-tinted edges—a sunlit, sherry-kissed glow that speaks of decades maturing in oak.
Nose
Dark fig and prune mingle with cacao, walnut and sun-warmed oak. Sherry sweetness folds in orange zest, nutmeg and leather, anchored by a waxy, malty core. Elegant, with an old-library richness that invites slow sipping.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied on the palate, this Mortlach delivers a sherry-kissed richness. Dark plum and fig mingle with toffee, burnt sugar and chocolate, while oak spices—nutmeg and a trace of cinnamon—thread through. A savory, meaty depth sits at the core, rising to a long, warm finish of toasted nuts and dried fruit.
Finish
Long, opulent finish that clings with dark sherry-soaked fruit—figs and dates—mingling with cocoa, toffee and leather. Clove and black pepper threads drift through velvety oak, leaving a warm, resinous glow that gradually fades to a refined, lingering sweetness.
