method and Madness is a spirit brand hatched from the minds of the Masters and Apprentices of Midleton Distillery. The foundation of shared knowledge is unique to Midleton. Innovation is nothing new to Midleton, but the new microdistillery has provided the copper canvas for experimentation to run free. The whiskeys coming out of this distillers’ playground provide a new taste from Irish whiskey history.
This is a Single Malt Whiskey laid down at Midleton in 2002 and finished in a French Limousin Oak. A first for Midleton, resulting in light perfume notes giving way to dry barley and ice cream cone wafer.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden straw with a warm honey-amber glow, a sunlit hue hinting at refined maturity from Limousin oak.
Nose
Freshly shelled peanut and cereal notes rise on the nose, with a whisper of amyl sweetness and a delicate grainy perfume. Light, inviting aromas hint at the oak-driven finesse and a creamy malt core to follow.
Palate
Cracked cinnamon sticks meet ice cream wafer cones, weaving warming spice with creamy, confectionary sweetness and a crisp barley edge that lingers.
Finish
Fragrant bon bons linger, joined by a delicate whisper of toasted barley, leaving a confectionary sweetness that stays grain-kissed and elegantly persistent.
