Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany depth and a glossy copper edge.
Nose
Intense peat smoke and coastal brine rise from the glass, braided with warm spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—over rich sherry fruit: fig, raisin, dark chocolate. Hints of leather and toasted almond add depth to a dense, oily aroma that promises a bold, lingering finish.
Palate
Greasy, full-bodied palate coats the tongue with oily richness. Peat smoke and spicy warmth—pepper, clove, cinnamon—rise alongside sherry-driven dark fruit, raisins and cocoa. A syrupy sweetness tames the peat, while salty, resinous notes mingle with leather and maritime hints, finishing long, warm, and distinctly peaty.
Finish
Long, oily finish of thick peat smoke, tempered by sherry sweetness. Spices—pepper, clove, cinnamon—linger as the peat remains bold, with dark fruit and cocoa notes from the ex-sherry cask. A warming, resinous fade that persists with coastal warmth and smoke.
