Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery shimmer and a hint of mahogany, a warm, sherried glow.

Nose

Red apple and cinnamon lead the aroma, unfolding into demerara sugar, toffee, fruitcake and a gentle veil of smoke.

Palate

White pepper and blackcurrant greet the palate, with hints of charred oak and stewed fruit, giving way to dark chocolate and marmalade.

Finish

Full, spicy and smoky, with lingering rich fruit and treacle that coats the palate and slowly fades to a warm, smoky sweetness.

(Le-Chig) Ledaig is the heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. The name means “safe haven” and was the original name used when John Sinclair founded the distillery in 1798, making it one of Scotland’s older surviving distilling sites.
