Elements 3.0 is an exclusive new small batch single malt whisky, with notes of roasted cocoa beans and bitter dark chocolate. The third instalment in Laphroaig's award-winning Elements series, this limited release was the result of a fire in their kiln that burned peat for longer and at higher temperatures than usual. Experimenting with heat brought out chocolate and coffee notes – resulting in this extraordinary whisky.
Tweaking their process like this requires expertise, a bold sense of creativity, a dash of intuition – and perhaps even good luck. In the case of Elements 3.0 it was by chance that our team discovered a fire burning for longer and at higher temperatures than usual in their kiln. They used their curiosity and skill to channel that chance event into this remarkable small batch single malt scotch.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights, a warm, cocoa-kissed glow that hints at the peat-smoked richness inside.
Nose
Peat-forward and luxurious, the nose presents roasted cocoa beans and bitter dark chocolate at the core. Roasted coffee notes deepen the aroma, while the kiln’s heat leaves a smoky, charred backbone—an expressive prelude to the whisky’s bold, experimental character.
Palate
On the palate, peat smoke envelopes a luscious core of roasted cocoa beans and bitter dark chocolate, with coffee notes surfacing mid-palate. Velvet, warming and long-lasting, it ends with a cacao-spice finish that lingers against the smoke.
Finish
Long, cocoa-laden finish with roasted chocolate and bitter coffee notes, threaded by persistent peat smoke. Warmth lingers, leaving a cocoa-dusted dryness and a whisper of coastal mineral.
