Elements 3.0 is an exclusive new small batch single malt whisky, with notes of roasted cocoa beans and bitter dark chocolate. The third instalment in Laphroaig's award-winning Elements series, this limited release was the result of a fire in their kiln that burned peat for longer and at higher temperatures than usual. Experimenting with heat brought out chocolate and coffee notes – resulting in this extraordinary whisky.

Tweaking their process like this requires expertise, a bold sense of creativity, a dash of intuition – and perhaps even good luck. In the case of Elements 3.0 it was by chance that our team discovered a fire burning for longer and at higher temperatures than usual in their kiln. They used their curiosity and skill to channel that chance event into this remarkable small batch single malt scotch.
