Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-bronze sheen, a sun-warmed mahogany glow suggesting sherry richness.
Nose
Soft and fresh on the nose, with delicate hints of milk chocolate and lemon. It opens to fragrant tea-scented smoke, mingling with maritime air and a touch of cereal, all under Lagavulin’s trademark dryness, like fresh newsprint.
Palate
A soothing, light texture opens to a full, unmistakable Lagavulin palate—bigger than anticipated, sweetly smoky and warming. The smoke intensifies into a dry, charred note with minty undertones and dark chocolate. A poised mid-palate gives way to saline, oven-charred potato skins and enduring smoke that lingers on the tongue.
Finish
Clean, very long and smoky, the finish envelopes the palate with minted smoke that caresses chocolate tannins. It lingers into a dry, time-delayed finale, leaving a crisp, drying note to close.
