The latest batch of Lagavulin from Elixir Distillers as part of their Elements of Islay Range of Single Malts. Always scare in quantity, we've managed to nab a couple of bottles! Creamy and smoky, this whisky offers aromas of caramel flapjacks, stewed apples, vanilla and salty, medicinal peat smoke. The palate brings forth notes of ripe mango, pineapple, grilled peaches, salty sea air, malty barley and rich smoke. This 12 year old is a vatting of 3 American Oak barrels with an outturn of 986 bottles and bottled at a cask strength of 57.4% ABV.

Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a trace of mahogany.
Nose
Creamy and smoky, the nose unfolds with caramel flapjacks and stewed apples, a vanilla sweetness, and a bold, salty medicinal peat smoke that lingers.
Palate
On the palate, ripe mango and pineapple fuse with grilled peaches, while salty sea air and malty barley support a rich, coastal smoke. At 57.4% ABV, warmth unfolds quickly, unveiling depth and a long, peaty finish.
Finish
Long maritime finish of coastal peat and sea-salt smoke, fading to vanilla-caramel warmth. Hints of ripe mango and pineapple linger, balanced by malty toast and a final, savoury peat kiss that slowly recedes.
