Highland Park David Coulthard Saltire Single Cask Edition #1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 13 Year Old · 2004 Vintage
Out of stock
Greatness is a rare accomplishment. And when it is achieved, it deserves to be celebrated and savoured. Saltire Edition 1 was created in collaboration with David Coulthard, a friend of the distillery, from a single European oak sherry butt laid down in 2004 (#2542).
It was bottled in 2018 at 43% ABV and just 734 bottles were released in 2019. Every bottle is hand-signed by David with a percentage of the proceeds going to local charities in Dumfries and Galloway, where he grew up.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery-bronze highlights and a warm mahogany core.
Nose
From a single European sherry butt, the nose is richly sweet with a maritime edge: dark fig and raisin, orange zest, toffee and vanilla over honeyed barley and toasted oak. A whisper of peat smoke and sea salt adds coastal resin and gentle spice.
Palate
Rich sherry-led sweetness coats the palate with raisin, fig and date, balanced by dark chocolate and toasted almond. Subtle peat smoke threads through honeyed oak, with cinnamon and clove spice. A whisper of sea salt brightens the finish. Velvety and full-bodied, it lingers long, delivering cocoa, warm resin and refined smoky warmth.
Finish
Long, elegant finish with a soft peaty kiss and sherry sweetness. Dried fig and raisin mingle with chocolate and spice, while a coastal salt lingers. Polished European oak warms the palate, allowing the sweetness to drift away in a velvety, oak-driven afterglow.
