Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with coppery highlights and a warm, sherried glow.
Nose
Intriguing, resinous peat mingles with a sun-warmed sherry sweetness. Rich dried fruits—fig, raisin, burnt orange—softened by cocoa and toffee. Maritime brine and a whisper of heather honey cling to the glass, while polished oak and a touch of vanilla lend sculpted, elegant lift. A robust, aromatic prelude to a long, smoky finish.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, this cask-strength Highland Park coats the palate with honeyed malt, orange zest and treacle. Sherry maturation lends dark fruit, fig and raisin, and a velvety chocolate edge, while a restrained peat smoke threads through vanilla, spice and toasted almond. The finish grows long and warming, with oak, maritime salt and a final kiss of sweetness.
Finish
Long, elegant finish of sherry-softened fruit, toasted oak and a whisper of peat. Dried fig and orange zest mingle with dark chocolate as warm spice and coastal salt linger, leaving a refined, lasting impression.
