Colour

Glowing copper-gold amber with sunlit honey tones and a hint of mahogany at the rim.

Nose

Golden honey sweetness mingles with soft fruit and mellow malt, yielding a warm, inviting aroma with subtle complexity.

Palate

Silky vanilla leads the palate, carried by warming spice and dark chocolate. The five-cask maturation brings creamy, layered depth—with subtle Chardonnay sweetness, PX sherry influence, and a whisper of peat—finishing smooth, warm, and lingering.

Finish

Smooth, smoky and warmly lingering, the finish coats the palate with vanilla warmth, gentle spice and a thread of subtle peat. A comforting glow remains, giving way to a refined, cocoa-dusted smoke that fades with elegant restraint.

Founded in 2017, the Goalong Distillery is based in China’s Hunan Province, where a humid subtropical climate plays a key role in how the spirit matures. Using locally sourced grains such as barley, rice and wheat, the distillery blends traditional practices (like copper pot distillation and aging in oak barrels) with contemporary techniques. The region’s warmer conditions speed up the aging process, allowing the whisky to develop deeper colour and fuller flavours more quickly than those produced in cooler climates.
