Founded in 2017, the Goalong Distillery is based in China’s Hunan Province, where a humid subtropical climate plays a key role in how the spirit matures. Using locally sourced grains such as barley, rice and wheat, the distillery blends traditional practices (like copper pot distillation and aging in oak barrels) with contemporary techniques. The region’s warmer conditions speed up the aging process, allowing the whisky to develop deeper colour and fuller flavours more quickly than those produced in cooler climates.
