Glenury Royal (silent) G&M 125th Anniversary Release - Single Cask #2335 Whisky 35 Year Old · 1984 Vintage
Out of stock
Since 1895, Gordon & MacPhail has been driven by a simple mission: to create single malt Scotch whisky of exceptional quality. Through four generations of family ownership, the company has matched spirit from over 100 Scottish distilleries to its own casks, creating exceptional whiskies found nowhere else in the world. To celebrate this landmark chapter in Gordon & MacPhail’s rich history, four commemorative whiskies will be released in 2020.
To mark this special anniversary, casks have been selected casks from distilleries that are closed, or from makes with stills no longer in existence. All these whiskies are consigned to history and Gordon and Macphail are now releasing their very last stocks from each. Never again will these rare whiskies be bottled under the Gordon and MacPhail name.
Founded in 1825 by Captain James Barclay, the suffix ‘Royal’ was added due to the owner’s friendship with King William IV. Glenury Royal was demolished in 1985 and is rarely seen as a single malt. This release is from the last cask of Glenury Royal to have matured in Gordon & MacPhail's famous warehouse.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany edge, a burnished, wine-warm glow that hints at its sherry-matured heritage.
Nose
Stewed fruit aromas mingle with soft notes of polish, giving way to cocoa powder. Cinnamon spice takes the fore, paired with tart plum skin, treacle and subtle traces of toasted oak.
Palate
Sweet and drying, opening with fresh cherry and orange peel. Burnt sugar develops with dried fig, while blackcurrant and fresh coffee grounds linger in the finish.
Finish
Medium-length and fruit-forward, the finish lingers with a graceful wave of aniseed, intertwining sherry spice as dried fruit fades into a warm, comforting echo.
