This Glentauchers single malt by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail is one of the only ways to experience this distillery's whisky as no official bottles have ever been released from themselves. Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2021 using Oak cask's this bottle with vintage branding is part of Gordon & MacPhail's Distillery Labels series.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a mahogany edge, a warm, sunlit hue suggesting rich oak and sherry influence.

Nose

Sherry-draped aromas mingle with dark fruit and nutty depth: raisin, fig and almond harmonize with caramelized toffee and cocoa nibs. A malt-forward sweetness threads through, while cinnamon and clove spice up the bouquet and a hint of orange zest adds brightness, finished by vanilla-oak refinement.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied palate with orchard notes of green apple and pear, layered with honeyed vanilla and a touch of almond. Subtle spice and gentle oak back the fruit, finishing clean and bright with citrus zest and a long, refined glow.

Finish

Elegant, long finish with creamy vanilla and dried fruit lingering, a touch of almond and cocoa from the oak. Subtle spice warms the palate as the sweetness fades, leaving a polished, orange-zest brightness and a final whisper of toffee.

Glentauchers
(Glen-TAW-kers) Glentauchers was founded near Mulben in 1897 by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, with production beginning in 1898. Its early history was closely tied to blending from the outset, with James Buchanan & Co taking full ownership in 1906 before later becoming part of DCL in 1925. The distillery was expanded in 1966, closed during the whisky downturn in 1985, and returned to production in 1992.
