Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with copper-gold sheen and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Delicate, cereal-forward nose of dry muesli crowned with zesty lemon curd, complemented by sultanas, toasted barley and dried coconut. Subtle toasted sourdough joins lemon peel, elderflower cordial and lime wine gums, weaving a bright, citrus-kissed aroma.

Palate

Bright lemon zest lingers on the palate, opening with fresh peel, lemon posset, and a touch of gum. Toasted barley and oats form a rich cereal backbone, creamy and smooth, with whispers of salted butter and soft vanilla sponge cake that glide into a refined, lingering finish.

Finish

Bright grapefruit and citrus peel linger, lifted by spearmint, then fading into subtle chalky notes with crushed aspirin and a hint of warming ground ginger.

(Glen-TAW-kers) Glentauchers was founded near Mulben in 1897 by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, with production beginning in 1898. Its early history was closely tied to blending from the outset, with James Buchanan & Co taking full ownership in 1906 before later becoming part of DCL in 1925. The distillery was expanded in 1966, closed during the whisky downturn in 1985, and returned to production in 1992.
