Tasting Notes

Nose

A delicate blend of dry muesli topped with zesty lemon curd, complemented by sultanas, toasted barley, and dried coconut. Notes of toasted sourdough, lemon peel, elderflower cordial, and lime wine gums round out the profile.

Palate

The lemon theme persists, with vibrant fresh peel, lemon posset, and gum. The flavor develops with rich cereal undertones of toasted barley and oats, paired with a creamy texture and hints of salted butter and soft vanilla sponge cake.

Finish

A refreshing mix of grapefruit juice, citrus peel, and spearmint, followed by subtle notes of crushed aspirin, chalk, and a touch of ground ginger.

Glentauchers
(Glen-TAW-kers) Glentauchers was founded near Mulben in 1897 by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, with production beginning in 1898. Its early history was closely tied to blending from the outset, with James Buchanan & Co taking full ownership in 1906 before later becoming part of DCL in 1925. The distillery was expanded in 1966, closed during the whisky downturn in 1985, and returned to production in 1992.
