Glentauchers Uncharted Whisky Co. Tauchin About A Revolution Single Malt Scotch Whisky 11 Year Old · 2014 Vintage
In stock
Discover Tauchin About a Revolution, an 11-year-old Glentauchers single malt fully matured in one oloroso sherry cask. Imagine supping on a 60.7% ABV spoonful of apricot jam- that’s what this is like.
This beautiful spirit from Glentauchers distillery has bottled at natural cask strength. Unpeated and matured for it’s full maturation in a single first fill oloroso sherry cask, this is a bit of a cracker.
Yes, yes, yes , we know big sherry cask speysides are often very similar but this one is a little different. The first thing we noticed was a hazelnut aroma and then sultana’s- I think Dana’s question on nosing was “what’s the thing like a raisin, but lighter, like a clear raisin, like a yellow raisin?”. The most striking difference for me was the apricot jam aroma.
Glentauchers is one of our absolute favourite distilleries in Speyside. It’s always got a bit of character to it and we’ve seen some stellar quality single casks bottled over the years.
This was bottled at natural cask strength and presented at natural colour which is really quite dark!

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark amber with mahogany hues and a warm, sherried glow.
Nose
Hazelnut unfolds with sweet sultanas, rich butterscotch, apricot jam and a veil of dessert wine.
Palate
Apricot jam leads the palate, rich, sweet, and smooth at cask strength. A silky marzipan sweetness sits alongside hazelnut and sultana notes, while a thread of dry oak keeps it balanced. The finish returns to nutty warmth, with fruit receding to reveal oak-spice and lingering sherry depth.
Finish
Apricot and dried fruit recede to reveal toasted hazelnuts and marzipan, carried on warm oak. The finish lingers long and luxurious, with a gentle kiss of spice and the unmistakable glow of cask-strength warmth.
