Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany undertone, a rich chestnut-gold glow.

Nose

Glentauchers' opulent sherry-led perfume from a single Oloroso octave: dark figs and prunes mingle with apricot and orange zest, touched by toffee and cocoa. Hints of toasted almond and walnut drift with warm spice over rich oak and leather, finishing with a refined caramel-sweet depth.

Palate

Sherry-driven and sumptuous, the palate unveils dried figs and prunes with bright orange zest. Rich toffee and dark chocolate sit on a velvet, syrupy body, lifted by subtle oak and almond. Clove and cinnamon spice weave through, finishing warm and long with polished sweetness and a hint of licorice.

Finish

Long, sherried finish with dark fruit, orange zest and toasted oak. Dried prune and fig mingle with gentle spice, leaving a warm, lingering sweetness and a soft, cocoa-tinted afterglow.

Glentauchers
(Glen-TAW-kers) Glentauchers was founded near Mulben in 1897 by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, with production beginning in 1898. Its early history was closely tied to blending from the outset, with James Buchanan & Co taking full ownership in 1906 before later becoming part of DCL in 1925. The distillery was expanded in 1966, closed during the whisky downturn in 1985, and returned to production in 1992.
