Distilled at Glentauchers distillery in 2009, This Single Cask and Single Malt Scotch whisky has been aged for 14 years in oak casks at the infamous Speyside region; and bottled in 2023 by Duncan Taylor as a part of ''The Octave'' series.

The Octave Collection is extensive with something for all tastes, be it a single malt, a single grain or a blended malt whisky. Featured distilleries include Aultmore, Bhunnahabhain, Brackla, Caol Ila, Glenallachie, Glen Moray, Highland Park, Miltonduff and Tobermory.

Colour

Deep copper-amber with mahogany depth and a warm ruby edge.

Nose

Opulent sherry-driven nose with dark fruit: raisin, fig, date, crowned by orange zest and a touch of toffee. Cocoa nibs and espresso mingle with warm spice—cinnamon and clove—while almond paste and toasted oak add velvet depth. A hint of leather lingers, inviting a slow, luxurious reveal.

Palate

Velvety, rich and sherried, this palate delivers dark fruit sweetness: raisin, fig and plum, balanced by orange zest, cocoa and toasted almond. Spices weave through caramel and toffee, while refined oak adds a gentle tannic lift. Full-bodied and warm, with a long, lingering finish.

Finish

Long and luxurious, the finish unfolds with sherry sweetness and warming spice. Raisin, date and dark chocolate seep into velvety oak, a touch of orange zest brightening the tail, leaving a lingering caramel-woody glow that invites another sip.

Glentauchers
(Glen-TAW-kers) Glentauchers was founded near Mulben in 1897 by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, with production beginning in 1898. Its early history was closely tied to blending from the outset, with James Buchanan & Co taking full ownership in 1906 before later becoming part of DCL in 1925. The distillery was expanded in 1966, closed during the whisky downturn in 1985, and returned to production in 1992.
