Glentauchers is a Speyside distillery, highly prized by blenders and very rarely bottled by its owners, Pernod Ricard. This 26 year old single cask bottling was matured in an Oloroso sherry cask.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a luxurious copper-gold glow and mahogany-tinted edges.
Nose
Opulent oloroso sherry aroma with dried figs and raisins, caramel and treacle, and bright orange zest. Rich oak frames vanilla, almond and a touch of walnut, while cinnamon and clove spice adds lift. A hint of dark chocolate and leather deepens the finish.
Palate
Velvety and full on the palate, with raisiny depth from the Oloroso, dark fig and date sweetness framed by orange zest and toffee. Rich cereal malt evolves into cinnamon-spice warmth, polished by ganache and walnut. A saline, oily mouthfeel coats the tongue, finishing long and slowly with chocolate, leather, and nuttiness.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish dominated by dark fig and prune, tempered by molasses, roasted almond, and cocoa from the Oloroso. Spice threads through the oak, inviting a final, velvety warmth that slowly ebbs.
