Matured in very small casks which are approximately 1/8th the size of a regular cask. This increased ratio of wood to liquid imparts intense flavours more quickly into the final Whisky.
One of my favourite new releases of 2016 and along with the peated version goes to show the wonders you can do with a great small cask at a young age.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright golden amber with sun-kissed honey tones and subtle coppery glints.
Nose
Soft and fruity, with notes of poached pears, summery meadows, stock syrup, runny honey, vanilla wafers, caramelised pineapple and a dusting of cocoa powder.
Palate
Salted caramel and rich toffee mingle with poached pears in stock syrup, apple crumble with oats and a drizzle of honey, finished with vanillin oak and praline.
Finish
Toffee apple and poached pears with aromatic spice, caramelised orchard fruits and creamy oak.
