A 1975 vintage 40 Year Old single cask Glenglassaugh single malt distilled before its two decades of closure with only 588 bottleds produced from a single Madeira Wine Puncheon.
A stunning example of how great single malts that were ignored because they were too rich and powerful for blending in the 1980's survived to be bottled as this mellow and moreish rarity.
A real gem from this now reborn distillery that i expect great things from again in the future.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dark amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper-gold glow.
Nose
Opulent bouquet of baked goods and dense fruitcake, intertwined with roasted coffee beans, ripe figs in dark aromatic honey, and a delicate whisper of ginger latte.
Palate
Big and juicy, delivering sultana, fig and dates with mocha and coffee grounds, then ripe white stone fruits in stock syrup and a drizzle of Greek honey.
Finish
Sun-baked orchard fruits weave with orange rind and fig jam, a touch of sticky stem ginger, finishing with coffee-soaked sponge fingers reminiscent of tiramisu.
