Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany depth and copper-bronze edges, a burnished, wine-warm glow.
Nose
Opulent, fortified-wine aroma of Marsala emerges first—raisin, fig and prunes drenched in sweet spice. Underneath, toasted oak and malt mingle with orange zest, caramel and toffee. Layered with cinnamon and clove, a hint of leather and vanilla adds depth, while the cask-strength malt balances with warm, persistent fruit-forward richness.
Palate
On the palate, a full, malt-forward spine is laced with Marsala’s fortified sweetness. Dried figs and raisins mingle with caramelized toffee, orange zest and a touch of almond. Spices rise—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—carrying a warm, cask-strength bite. Rich, velvety texture and a long, drying finish of oak and dark fruit linger, revealing the whisky’s restrained sweetness against its robust Speyside power.
Finish
Deep, lasting finish saturated with Marsala sweetness—raisin, fig and dried fruit cling to the malt, kissed by dark chocolate and caramel. Spices—cinnamon and clove—emerge as warmth lingers, with orange zest brightening the final oak. A robust, sweet-spicy farewell at cask strength.
